Revise Study · Kilkenny · Since 2007

School ends at four.
The real work starts at 4:30.

Supervised evening study for 5th and 6th Year, Monday to Thursday. A silent room of students who all came to work, an adult who knows what serious study looks like, and the day's work finished by ten past nine. It's the heart of the Revise Membership, and the one thing no kitchen table can give you — the reason this room has worked since 2007.

Why it works

The environment does the work the home can't.

Most students don't fall behind because they can't learn. They fall behind because there's no place, no set time, no rhythm in the week where focused work is the only thing on offer. Bedrooms have phones. Kitchens have noise. The library is too quiet to ask a question.

Revise Study was built for exactly that gap: a real classroom, set hours, supervised by an adult who knows what serious work looks like — and a room full of other students all doing their own work. That last part — the room of peers — is the bit nothing at home can replicate.

Attendance is tracked and parents are kept informed. Breaks are timed. The structure is what makes it work, four nights a week, every week, right through the year.

Run by a working Maths teacher, in a centre parents can walk into and see for themselves. Not a brand. Not a Zoom call. A real room, in Kilkenny, that has done one thing well for nearly twenty years.

Our promise

Withdraw and you get it back. No quibble.

If a student withdraws from study or grinds, we refund the unused portion — no forms, no medical certs, no awkward conversation. The odd missed night isn't refunded — grinds are recorded, so nothing's lost — but a genuine withdrawal always is. The same straight policy since 2007.

What comes next

Members walk into Christmas already ahead.

The students who sit in the room all term don't cram in December — they consolidate. So the Christmas Intensive isn't a panic. It's four focused days at the Ormonde Hotel, multiple subjects, taught the way the exam papers actually ask the questions.

It's the only course of its kind in Ireland, and it fills early. Study members hear first — but anyone can book.

Frequently asked

A few things parents and students ask.

Is there a teacher in the room, or just a supervisor?

There is always a supervisor in the room, and on several weeknights a Maths teacher is available for questions during one of the study blocks.

What if my child misses a night?

The odd missed night isn't refunded — the place is there to use and every grind is recorded. But if a student withdraws, the unused portion is refunded, no quibble.

What's the phone policy?

Phones are for school use only — notes, definitions, online textbooks. Anything else gets a first warning; a second offence and the phone is taken for the rest of the night.

Can my child add Maths Grinds or the Saturday Intensive?

Maths Grinds can be added to any membership at any point in the year — the session runs inside the study window, so students stay in the building. Get in touch and we'll work out the part-term cost. Saturday Study is separate: no membership needed, €5 a session or €10 for the day, just come along.

Do places run out?

The room has a fixed number of seats per term, and we hold the standard by not over-filling it. When a term is full, it's full — so it's worth claiming a place early.
