What we store on your device, and why. The short answer: only what's needed to run the site. Last updated: 8 August 2026.

No advertising, no tracking

Revise.ie uses no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We don't build profiles of visitors and we don't sell data. The only things we store are the few that are needed to make the site and your booking work.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small piece of text a website saves in your browser. "Local storage" is similar. Both let a site remember something between visits.

What we use, and why

Our use is limited to what's essential:

  • Your pass — when a student opens their Revise pass, we may keep it available on that device so it opens in one tap each evening, rather than digging through email.
  • Admin sign-in — for staff, an optional "keep me signed in on this device" choice that stores an access key locally so it doesn't have to be re-entered each visit. This is off by default and only ever on a member of staff's own device.
  • Points calculator — the CAO points calculator saves your progress in your own browser's local storage so you don't lose it. That information stays on your device and is not sent to us.

These are strictly necessary to deliver the service you asked for, so they don't require separate consent. None of them track you across other websites.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time. If you clear ours, you'll simply be asked to open your pass or re-enter details again. The site otherwise works normally.

If this changes

If we ever add analytics or advertising in future, we will ask for your consent first and update this page. See also our Privacy Notice.
