Who we are

Revise.ie is operated by Reviseonline Limited (registered in Ireland, company no. 418387). We are the data controller for the personal information described here. You can contact us at info@revise.ie or on 086 065 9817.

What we collect

Depending on how you use Revise, we may hold: the student's name and year/level; a parent or guardian's name, email and phone; an emergency contact; the programme and nights booked; attendance records; payment status; any notes a supervisor adds; and how you heard about us. If you contact us, we keep your message and our reply.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use this information to provide the service you've booked, run the centre safely, track attendance, take payment and keep parents informed. Our lawful bases are performance of a contract (delivering your study place or course), legitimate interests (running the centre and keeping students safe), legal obligation where one applies, and consent for any optional marketing. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time.

Students under 18

Most of our students are minors. We collect their data on the basis of the booking made by a parent or guardian, and we keep it to the minimum needed to run the service and keep them safe. A parent or guardian may access, correct or delete their child's data at any time by emailing us. Our handling of children's data sits alongside our centre rules and our Child Safeguarding Statement.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We use a small number of trusted processors to run the service: Supabase (secure database, hosted in the EU/Ireland), Netlify (website hosting), Stripe (payment processing) and Resend (sending booking and pass emails). Some of these operate servers outside the EU; where they do, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses). We may also disclose data where required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it to run the service and meet our legal obligations, and we clear down our records at the start of each school year. Different kinds of information are kept for different lengths of time:

• Student and parent details, bookings and attendance — the student's name and year, parent or guardian contact details, emergency contact, the programme and nights booked, and attendance records. Kept while the student is enrolled and until the end of the following school year, then deleted.
• Supervisor notes — any note a supervisor adds about a session. Kept on the same basis as the attendance record above, unless the note forms part of a child protection record, in which case it is held as below.
• Payment records — kept for six years, as we are required to for tax purposes.
• Correspondence — emails and messages you send us, and our replies. Kept for two years.
• Child protection records — where a concern about a child has been recorded or reported, that record is held securely and separately by our Relevant Person, and is kept for the period set out in our Child Protection Policy. These records are not deleted with the ordinary student record, because we may be required to produce them. Our Child Safeguarding Statement explains how such concerns are handled.
• Marketing consent — kept until you withdraw it.

You can ask us to delete your or your child's data at any stage by emailing info@revise.ie, and we will do so except where we are legally required to keep something — payment records and child protection records being the two cases where that applies.

Cookies and local storage

The site itself uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Some tools (such as the points calculator) save your progress in your own browser's local storage so you don't lose it — this stays on your device and is not sent to us. If we add analytics or advertising in future, we will ask for your consent first.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you or your child, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email info@revise.ie and we'll respond within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie), Ireland's supervisory authority.
