Higher and Ordinary Level Maths grinds for 3rd, 5th and 6th Year, in Kilkenny or live online. Term 1 is 15 weeks, taught the way the State exams ask the questions.
Carl Lynch has taught Leaving Cert Higher Level Maths since 1992 and has run these grinds in Kilkenny since 2007. Not a tutor working from a textbook — a teacher who has corrected the papers, knows how the marking scheme actually awards marks, and can tell you in September what June is going to ask.

In the final six weeks before the exams, every group steps up to an extra grind a week — 3rd, 5th and both 6th Year. And the 6th Years get two more on top: one grind before Paper 1 and one before Paper 2, the weekend each paper falls. No extra cost — all included.
Full notes, worked examples, flashcards, the Cog and exam-question practice — following the grind exactly, week for week, free for as long as you're with us. It sells on its own at €119–€149. Grinds students pay nothing for it.
Every grind is recorded. Students can watch back the same week — laptop, tablet, phone, however they want to. No-one falls behind because of a school trip or a sick day, and there is no need to ring us to arrange it: the recording is simply there.
Yes — a student can start at any point in the year. Every grind already covered is recorded, so a late starter watches them back and catches up quickly. Yes. The grind runs inside the evening study window, so students stay in the building. Combining the two is what the Study + Grinds options are designed for.
Every chapter on the State Examinations Commission syllabus, taught in class, before the exam. Not "we'll see what we get to." We cover it all — and the high-frequency topics, the ones that show up on the paper year after year, get extra time.
€300 for the term for 3rd Year, 5th Year Higher and 6th Year Ordinary. €450 for 6th Year Higher, because that class runs twice a week. Here is everything that is in the price:
For a Leaving Cert Higher student that works out at €15 an hour of live teaching with a teacher of 34 years — before you count the free Mathslive, the recordings, or the extra grinds at the end. A one-to-one grind in most of the country is €40 to €50 an hour and comes with none of it.

Each year group has one class, kept to a size where a student can ask a question and get an answer. It is a class, not a one-to-one — and for most students that is the point: they hear the questions other students ask, which are usually the ones they were afraid to ask themselves. If a student needs genuine one-to-one support, tell us and we'll say so honestly rather than sell you the wrong thing.
Yes. 6th Year Ordinary has its own class on Tuesdays with Carl. We don't treat Ordinary as the lesser room — the H4 to H2 jump and the O3 to O1 jump are worth the same points on the day, and the Ordinary group gets the same teacher and the same notes.
Almost never, and it's the question we're asked most. Students arrive in fifth and sixth year convinced Maths is beyond them, and what's usually happened is that one or two foundation topics were missed years ago and everything after them stopped making sense. That's fixable. What isn't fixable is leaving it until April.
The 25 bonus points for Higher Level Maths are the single best return available in the Leaving Cert, and keeping a student on Higher Level is often the whole reason a family comes to us.
