Day 1: Cell structure, Cell division, Circulatory system
Day 2: Enzymes, Excretion
Day 3: Scientific Method, Photosynthesis
Day 4: Human Reproduction
Day 5: Genetics, Genetic Engineering
Intense revision and exam preparation on the following
Day 1: Probability – Permutations.
Day 2: Probability – Theoretical and experimental.
Day 3: Statistics – Data, averages, frequency tables.
Day 4: Statistics – Displaying data, correlation, empirical rule.
Day 5: Functions and Differentiation.
Day 1: Probability and Statistics is a huge section on paper 2 that we will break up over 3-4 days.
Day 1 is counting methods probability using Venn and tree diagrams.
Day 2: Probability distributions, expected value, the binomial distribution and the normal distribution.
Day 3: Continuation of day 2 material, with a brief look at descriptive statistics, moving into inferential statistics, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing.
Day 4: A continuation of day 3
Day 5: A selection of exam and mock exam paper questions to consolidate all the topics from during
the week.
Extra
I will include notes for Co-ordinate Geometry and a selection of exam questions, if we get time we will look at some of this on day 5.
Day 1: This will be an overview of paper 1 with emphasis on the concepts and applications (Q7, Q8
and 9) section of the paper.
On the first day, we will concentrate on the main features of functions.
Day 2: Differentiation.
We will look at the chain, product and quotient rules. We will also spend time on how to
differentiate logs and e. We will start applications of differentiation with slopes and graphs.
Day 3: More on the applications of Differentiation. How to know whether a function is increasing
and decreasing. How to find the turning points. We will also look at related rates.
Day 4: Integration and its applications
Day 5: A round-up of questions based on the week’s work. I will include notes on Complex Numbers which we will do on Day 5 if we get a chance.
